30 Top Paleo Bloggers Pick Their #1 Absolute Best Paleo Recipe

There are two things we know when it comes to Paleo Recipes –

#1. There are tons of healthy, delicious and easy to make Paleo Recipes available online

#2. There are tons of complicated, disgusting and difficult to make Paleo Recipes available online

Given that all of us are constantly trying to squeeze 30 hours of activity into a 24 hour day, how can we quickly and easily find only the best Paleo recipes? The search is over …

The Best Paleo Recipes From The Best Paleo Bloggers

We have spent the last two months reaching out to the top Paleo bloggers and chefs and asked them one simple question …

What is Your #1 Favorite Paleo Recipe and Why?

Sounds simple enough, but I think we might have short circuited their brains. Remember, we are talking about folks who have authored numerous Paleo cookbooks and tried literally thousands of Paleo recipes.

Picking their Top 10? Sure, they could have done that. Picking their Top 3? A huge challenge, but doable. Picking their #1 Favorite Paleo Recipe? Yep, we made them do the nearly impossible.

We knew it was like picking your favorite child, no even more challenging, like picking your favorite YouTube cat. Still, we made them pick their #1 All-Time Favorite, so we could get the collective wisdom of the Paleo world, all in one place.

30 Paleo Experts, 30 Top Recipes

Sorry, but we are about to remove the excuse, “I don’t have a simple and delicious Paleo recipe.”

Below, in no particular order, we present 30 incredible Paleo Bloggers and Chefs, each one picking their #1 Favorite Paleo Recipe … (we’ve gathered the recipes at the top of the post, followed by the blogger profiles below).

Paleo Sandwich Bread

Recipe Picked By:
Megan Stevens, Eat Beautiful

“My favorite Paleo recipe is the sandwich bread I recently created with cassava flour. It’s not a yeasted bread, but tastes like it is: a bit like Paleo Wonder Bread meets challah. It’s high in protein, slices beautifully, has the best texture, puffs up huge when it bakes, and even toasts. And it only takes 10 minutes to make the batter in a blender or with a mixer – super simple ingredients, super fast.”

It tastes great, is easy to make, can be made ahead of time for those weekends when you have guests at the house, and if you have extra, it both freezes and re-heats perfectly! We also like it because it has readily available ingredients all year round and doesn’t require any specialized cooking equipment. It’s your Jack-of-all-trades type of Paleo recipe!”

A big simmering pot fills the kitchen with the aroma of cumin, chili powder, and garlic—and it makes plenty of leftovers. My husband has said to me many times, You should just make Chocolate Chili for dinner every day.”

Strawberry Watermelon Slushee

Recipe Picked By:
Jessica Espinoza, Delicious Obsessions

“The reason I chose this recipe is because this drink reminds me of my childhood every time I drink it (or smell it). Specifically, it reminds me of summers spent horseback riding with my Mom. It never ceases to amaze me how taste and smell can transport you back to a specific time in your life. Whenever I have this, I immediately remember feeling the sun on my skin, the smell of the horses, and the love of my mother. There’s nothing more beautiful than that (in my opinion).”

Paleo Risotto Recipe, with Parsnip “Rice”

Recipe Picked By:
Lauren Geertsen NPT, Empowered Sustenance

“I consider risotto the most elegant form of comfort food. I missed traditional risotto when I began a grain-free lifestyle and experimented with paleo versions made with cauliflower. But the texture lacked the richness and creaminess. Parsnips, I found, create a silky risotto texture without dairy.”

Cuban Vaca Frita

Recipe Picked By:
Amanda Torres, The Curious Coconut

“My favorite Paleo recipe is actually a traditional Cuban beef dish known as vaca frita, which translates literally to “fried cow”, which may not sound appetizing but it is a truly wonderful dish – you can describe it as crispy Cuban beef with garlic, lime, and onions. It is made from a slow cooked beef roast or flank steak that is shredded and marinated overnight in a garlic lime mixture, then pan-fried until crispy with onions. The flavor combo of garlic, lime, and onion really is a perfect match and this is something we crave at my house! I also love that the recipe is naturally Paleo, as long as you use a good fat for frying the beef shreds (my favorite is lard). The final texture of the meat is so satisfying, with bits that are crispy crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. If you’re really in a hurry you can make this in a pressure cooker and do a quick marinade. You’ll love this dish!”

“My favorite Paleo recipe is always changing as I love to travel and try different ethnic cuisines. Since I just got back from Thailand, I’ve been pretty obsessed with Thai soups and coconut curries. So I’d have to say my favorite right now is Tom Kha Gai, a hot and sour chicken and coconut milk soup with a touch of sweetness. What I love about it is that it’s so easy to make. Melissa Joulwan

I’m on a mission to be a superfit, well-fed, dressed to kill, glossy-haired, rock-n-roll, tart tongued detective. Until I found CrossFit in 2007 and switched to a paleo diet in 2009, I was haunted by a deep desire to be different than I was. To be thin. To feel confident. To break the cycle of thinking of food—and my behavior—as “good” and “bad.” It was still my habit to celebrate and to grieve and to stress out and to relax with food. Although I worked out regularly, I didn’t feel strong as I wanted, inside or out. I dumped grains and dairy, did a series of Whole30 cleanups, committed to eight hours of sleep every night, and eventually, made friends with food and my body. Check out all of my Paleo Recipes on my blog and in my cookbooks!

Joshua Weissman

Slim Palate

My name is Joshua Weissman, a 19 year old, born and raised in California and currently living in Texas. Ever since I was a little kid I have had an immense passion for cooking. Sadly, as I got older I began to have serious health problems including being incredibly overweight, but my love for food remained persistent and strong. I struggled and toiled with my problems and got constantly ridiculed and made fun of because of the weight. I was bullied, shunned from groups and a lot of the times physically harassed. Eventually I came to the point where I was simply fed up with the ridicule, feeling sick, and unattractive. So I began eating healthy and learning more and more about health and started re-exploring my love for food. So yes, you can be a food lover and still eat mindfully healthy! Please check out my blog to learn more.

On our very first day the owner told us, “If I had the choice of you coming to the gym and eating crap at home or staying home and eating healthy, I would tell you to stay home. Nutrition is that important”. I created this site as a means to document all of my family’s favorite recipes and to motivate me to stay on track. Eating right shouldn’t be a chore. My hope is that these recipes can help you and your family eat healthy, and still have time to enjoy your life.

I also recreate the recipes that we miss on this diet: Cereal, Pop Tarts, and Cinnamon Rolls are just an example. A grain-free lifestyle doesn’t mean giving up those treats you loved growing up. Get in your kitchen and try out my most popular Paleo recipes. Also, don’t forget to learn more about my cookbook Paleo Eats. It’s been a blessing to be able to share my continuing health journey and the fun recipes I create in my kitchen.

Craig Fear

Fearless Eating

I’m a certified Nutritional Therapist
who believes in the power of traditional foods to transform our health and to transform the health of our planet. I’ve been helping people fix their digestion and lose weight since 2009 when I moved to western MA to start Pioneer Valley Nutritional Therapy. I love to hike, play my guitar, spend time with my golden retriever, practice vipassana meditation, root for my beloved New York Giants, blog about nutrition, read about nutrition, and travel when I can. I also love coffee and am only mildly addicted to it. See, I’m not perfect either.

Jennifer Robins

Predominantly Paleo

Excellent health, incredible energy and stamina, and a zest for life blessed me for 26 years. In my 26th year of life, a slow and steady downward decline into chronic illness began. I had received over 20 diagnoses and between diet, pregnancies, and life stresses, my body finally gave up. Luckily, my spirit found strength where my body found weakness. My focus shifted onto the power of food and its ability to heal. The cob webs started to lift and over the following months I became much less housebound and much more lifebound. The process has taken time and I have had to learn how to deal with life’s stresses much differently. I have literally been brought back to life through nutrient dense foods. My goal is to share my story, journey, and recipes, in hopes that others who are struggling may find life again. Check out my cookbook for more amazing Paleo recipes.

Gonna have to bookmark this one because there are so many to try!

Some of these look very good, so many recipes but so little time. I thought I would share my favorite brownie recipe as I have tried many over the years. This one is a favorite of everyone that has tried it and it’s very easy to make and doesn’t require any special ingredients.

Thank you Nikko! We love hear what other’s find to be their favorite- I will have to try this recipe out!
