How to Make a Healthy Shake to Gain Weight

That’s right- you read the title correctly. Believe it or not, I receive quite a few questions regarding how to gain weight in a healthy way. Often times, children and athletes need to take in extra calories to make up for the extra energy they expend on a daily basis. Although shakes and smoothies can be used to lose weight, they can also be used to gain weight.

MMM this protein shake taste like a tropical dessert but it’s extra hardy due to the addition of shredded coconut and gluten-free oats. The full fat coconut milk adds extra calories and a serving of healthy fats. Last but not least, the raw honey and bee pollen give this smoothie a superfood boost for your immune system.

2 bananas, sliced and frozen
1 cup full fat coconut milk
3 tbsp. shredded coconut
3 tbsp. gluten-free oats
1 tbsp. raw honey
1 tbsp. bee pollen (optional)
1 tbsp. Perfect Coconut Oil
1 scoop Perfect Plant Protein
4-6 ice cubes, optional

Directions: Add all of the ingredients to high speed blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. This recipe makes 1 large protein shake.
