In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Perfect Supplements sponsored a team running a half-marathon (13 miles!) on Sunday, October 17th, at 8AM, in Newport, RI.

Here is a picture of our team members before the race. Kara Lau is on the left, and me, Kristen Morelli, on the right.

It was a Perfect day for a long run along Ocean Road…We were taking pictures with Kara’s cell phone, so the quality isn’t great, but the phone was light enough for carrying while running. The pic below shows the ocean to the right.

We also ran past the Newport Mansions on Bellevue Avenue…

The half-marathon was my first real race…in preparation for the full-marathon in January, 2011. It was a wonderful experience…so fun to get out on the road with thousands of other runners…very motivational. Our pace was a 12 minute mile, or 5 miles per hour. Not terrific by other race-runner standards, but amazing for a gal who literally could not run a 1/2 mile four months ago (never mind a 1/2 marathon).
