Strawberry Shortcake is delicious, but it is rarely healthy. One of my favorite types of recipe development is taking my favorite desserts and turning them into healthy, nutrient dense protein shakes and smoothies. This protein shake is vegan, gluten-free, and packed with plant based protein- a perfect post workout recovery drink or nutrient dense breakfast!
It is important to use the highest quality ingredients available to ensure that your protein shake is actually healthy. Many almond milks and almond butters contain unhealthy ingredients so it is best to buy organic or make your own. Directions: Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you’d like to make the shake thicker, simply toss in a handful of ice cubes and blend again.
