GMO Labeling Passes in Connecticut

monsantoOfinaleditur neighboring state, Connecticut, recently passed legislation requiring food manufactures to label products that contain genetically modified ingredients. Not only is this a step in the right direction for Connecticut, new labeling laws are a step in the right direction for our country. The United States is one of the only developed countries that does not require labeling of genetically modified ingredients.

Genetically modified foods are not only unhealthy, but they destroy our soil, threaten cross contamination between GM crops and organic crops, and increase use of herbicides and other toxic agricultural chemicals. Genetically modified foods have been proven to cause a host of side effects including food allergy increase, body toxicity increase, negative hormonal and reproductive effects, overall decrease in health, cancer, and even death. This past March, Perfect Supplements sponsored a GMO Awareness Meeting in Connecticut. The event had over 40 guests in attendance.
