Ten Tips For Healthy Easter Basket
Health conscious parents are looking for Easter treats that don’t involve so much sugar. We have put together a list of non-sugar alternatives for you to consider when you’re filling your child’s Easter basket this year.
- Rice Krispee treats, pretzels, popcorn balls, nuts, raisins, or 100% fruit roll-ups, instead of all those jelly beans and Peeps.
- School supplies such as Easter themed pens, pencils, erasers, small pads, crayons, markers, etc.
- Small craft kits and craft supplies such as glue sticks, glitter, stickers, construction paper, stencils, paints and paintbrushes.
- Books, bookmarkers, flashcards, DVDs, and educational games
- Play-doh, silly putty, sidewalk chalk, or a new kite
- Sunglasses, beach towel, pail, shovels, balls and other beach toys
- For young girls you might add Easter jewelry, lip gloss, hair supplies such as barrettes, headbands, or ponytail holders, paper dolls, bubble bath, hand cream, etc.
- For young boys consider matchbox cars, squirt guns, marbles, magnets, whistles, yoyos baseball cards or other collectible cards.
- Gift certificates or homemade coupons for a movie or trip to the zoo, aquarium, museum amusement park or toy store.
- Stuffed animals or dolls are always a hit
If you don’t like any of these ideas, there’s always cash. You can’t go wrong by adding a little cold cash, especially for the older kids. Last I like to add a new cool toothbrush to encourage brushing after all the candy they’ll be getting from grandparents, aunts and uncles!!!
