Every holiday season, the Perfect Supplements’ family likes to celebrate our thankfulness with a large annual donation to a variety of charitable organizations that share Our Values of protecting people and planet.

This year we are celebrating the beautiful Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts, the new home of Perfect Supplements (and our family). Pioneer Valley is bordered by the Berkshire Mountains to the west and the Eastern Massachusetts mountain range. The Connecticut River flows through the middle.

Enjoying Local Produce

According to resources on Wikipedia, the valley boasts “… inordinately fertile soil.” Our family has enjoyed the benefits of that fertile soil with our first experience of this year’s valley harvest. Wonderful produce from local farms! We also enjoy local dairy from the dozens of cows we drive by everyday.

Preserving Farmland

Perfect Supplements is partnering with Kestrel Land Trust, a local organization dedicated to protecting forests and farms in the Pioneer Valley. Kestrel works with farmers to help them keep farming; through securing funding, establishing Community Supported Agriculture (CSA’s), and help groups form Community Gardens in urban areas.

How Can You Help?

I am so glad you asked. First, you can support the local farmers in your area! 

Second, Perfect Supplements is donating $1 to Kestrel Land Trust with every order from now through the end of 2017*.

Why do we feel that conserving land is so important?  I think Kestrel says it best –

“When we conserve the land, we’re safeguarding fertile places to grow our food, clean air to breathe and water to drink, places for wildlife to make their homes as the climate changes, and natural places for us to explore. And, we’re also providing ourselves with the chance to live healthier lives —physically, mentally, and socially.”

There is a third way you can help and it doesn’t require you to make a purchase or donate any money, we just ask for you to share your love of nature…

#GivingTuesday occurs the Tuesday after Black Friday weekend which is November 28th this year.  This wonderful event is a reminder that the holidays are not just about shopping but also an opportunity to “… celebrate and encourage giving” to people in our communities.

To celebrate #GivingTuesday, for every person that shares a photo of nature, we will donate $5 to the Kestrel Land Trust.

From now until 11:59pm PST on #GivingTuesday (11/28) simply share a favorite farm or vegetable photo on social media and tag it with #PerfectNatureShare. Perfect Supplements will donate $5 for every photo*.   That’s right, share a photo and we will do the donating! If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I have “a thing” for fresh vegetable photos.
